There have been many an 'off' in the passing months and many more to come, but this is not just a brownie off.

This is The Great Brownie Bake Off!

The Chocolate Consultancy Ltd has joined baking forces with Look Mum No Hands to find the best brownie recipe in town!  We are currently looking for home bakers to get involved in baking their best brownie recipe!

We will be hosting the event on Saturday October 9, 2010 at Look Mum No Hands, 49 Old Street, London, EC1V 9HX.  Follow them on twitter here.

We are hoping for a fantastic day fueled by chocolate brownie loveliness! We will have a panel of expert judges tasting the brownies and who have the hard task of deciding the best brownie recipe.  We will also be hosting a range of demonstrations and workshops, including an chocolate tasting hosted by myself.

We are looking for a WI style stall to be set up especially for home bakers.  If lemon cupcakes are your thing, maybe banana, walnut and chocolate cake or even the traditional scone please get in touch [louise@thechocolateconsultant.co.uk / 07729 287198] to organize selling on the stall.

Please note the following criteria for entering your brownies:

• We will not be tasting shop bought brownies, we want you to showcase your best brownie recipe, whether it was your great, great-grandmothers, a chocolate cake led down the garden path and found itself as a delicious chocolate brownie or a twist on your favourite chef or chocolatier's recipe.
• As a home-baker your main source of income cannot come from cooking or baking in a commercial or professional environment and you cannot have worked as a full time baker, nor have any formal catering qualifications.
• £1.70 entry fee is charged to entrants paying via Paypal [account: louise@thechocolateconsultant.co.uk]; as well as entering your brownies into the competition this includes entry and re-entry to the event on the day, free demonstrations and workshops and all the brownie samples you can eat!  £1 from each entry fee will be donated to a chosen charity after the event
  
• £1.02 entry fee is charged to entrants paying via EventBrite (with an additional £0.68 handling fee); as well as entering your brownies into the competition this includes entry and re-entry to the event on the day, free demonstrations and workshops and all the brownie samples you can eat!  £1 from each entry fee will be donated to a chosen charity after the event
• You must provide a copy of your recipe with your entry including a which particular chocolate brand you have used.
  
• One entry per person; there is no minimum age.
• Please do not include any blatant branding/tagging, we want this to be as fair as possible
• You must provide enough samples for up to 50 people, unfortunately we cannot cover costs.  As well as the judges tasting your brownie we want everyone to taste your delicious home baked treats!

For foodies, families, cycle, chocolate and brownie lovers who are interested in attending we will be charing a £1.70 entry fee.  There will be lots for you to do, including all the brownie samples you can eat, stalls with lovely homemade, baked goods and lots of demonstrations and workshops through out the day that is included in your ticket price.  Re-entry is permitted so you can come back through out the day!
